Back side of 「TOHOKU HISTORY MUSEUM」, there is a exhibition hall, called 「The Contry Farmhouse of Konnos」.
It was originally located Kitakami, Ishinomaki City, in Miyagi prefecture.
Konno served as Kimoiri, a chief of the village form generation to generation。
Main Building is the oldest building in the mansion.
Barn was used for stable and storeroom.
Main Building and Barn are defined as Tangible Cultural Property by Japanese government.
Description of 「The Contry Farmhouse of Konnos」
It was donated to TOHOKU HISTORY MUSEUM by Kitakami, Ishinomaki City, in Miyagi prefecture.
It is useful for study the folklore.

Bathroom
During that time, few families can wash in their own houses. many families went to the public bath to wash.
Toilet
The toilet was outside of the house.
Stable
Many of horses was fed in there.
Main Building
This is the Main Building!
Hearth
Could be cooking in there.
After dinner, the families was around the hearth to chitchat.

In those days, with no electric rice cookers with a keep-warm function and no microwave ovens, cooked rice was stored in a wooden cooked-rice container, to which cooked rice was usually transferred before being eaten, and it got cold.
Furnace
In those days, people used furnace for cooking and it is much difficult to control the fire.
Pestle
There is a pestle,too. I think is was different form the previous one.
Veranda
Big veranda.
Roof
Using the pampas grass and cogon to build.
Woodshed
This is a storage of wood.

The eggplant and tomato are planted in the garden.
